Over the past two months, something very strange has been happening to New York writer and cartoonist Adam Ellis. He believes he is being haunted by the ghost of a young boy and has been documenting his experience via Twitter. There are similar internet stories, such as Slenderman, but none  have ever been recorded in realtime. With halloween approaching, this story couldn’t have come up at a better time.

It first started when Ellis was having dreams about a little boy named David. He started tweeting about David on August 7, 2017 when he tweeted, “ So, my apartment is currently being haunted by the ghost of a dead child and he’s trying to kill me. (thread).”

Ellis expierenced sleep paralysis where he first saw David. He was standing at the foot of Ellis’s bed. A few nights later, Ellis dreamed of a girl who asked him if he knew David. “She continued, ‘He’s dead. He only appears at midnight, and you can ask him two questions if you said ‘Dear David’ first.’”

In the following tweet he states, “Then she added, ‘But never try to ask him a third question, or he’ll kill you.’” A few nights later Ellis dreamed of David again and asked him three questions on accident. Since then, he has been haunted in the physical world.

The first strange thing that started to occur was Ellis’s cats began to gather every night at midnight. They wait outside of the door to the hallway outside of Ellis’s apartment. Ellis started capturing photos of the cats gathering and even drew what he thinks to be David (see below).

After this had occured for a few nights, Ellis bought a polaroid to try and capture anything he found to be suspicious. He captured pictures of his apartment that all turned out normal, but one photo in particular stood out. He captured a photo of the hallway that all of the cats gather outside of. The photo developed all black. He tried to take several more pictures, but they all turned black.

Ellis took one more photo comparing a picture on his phone to a polaroid, and the difference is shocking. In the polaroid, the entire room is lit up like normal, but the hallway is completely black (comparison shown below).  

“I definetly think that ghosts and such are real, so I don’t think it’s a coincidence.” Said Junior Morgan Danison when asked if she thought the events Ellis has experienced are a coincidence.

Along with the mysterious gatherings and spooky hallways, Ellis experienced other things. He noticed things falling off of the wall in the middle of the night. He also nothiced moving chairs.

Ellis is currently in Japan and hasn’t been able to update the story. People following the story on twitter are anxiously awaiting an update from Ellis.
