Cleveland Indians retain hope for the future

Cleveland+Indians+retain+hope+for+the+future

The Cleveland Indians entered the off-season without a manager and a very dismal team. The Indians finished the 2012 season with a record 68 wins and 94 losses, which is not a very good record. This team has some very good young talent, but heading into the new season, they need some major upgrades.
With the firing of then manager Manny Acta, the Indians needed a force to be the new manager. They found it in Terry Francona. Francona has a very good resume, having won two World Series titles with the Boston Redsox in the past decade. Francona is also known for his ability to develop young players and turn them into quality pro players. Some players that he helped develop are; Jacoby Ellsbury, and Dustin Padroia, just to name a few. Young players on this team that have a lot of talent with the benefit from Francona are Carlos Santana, Jason Kipnis, Vinnie Pestano, Lonnie Chisenhall, Matt LaPorta, and Michael Brantley.

This Indians team needs more help than just a new manager. They need their Ace Justin Masterson to have a really big year. He struggled a little bit this year, but during the year before, he was their definite number one pitcher. Ubaldo Jimenez also needs to step up. He has been very inconsistent throughout his career but he has the talent to be a top 10 talent in the MLB for pitching.
The Indians need help, but they may be able to surprise some people and make a solid playoff push and makeCleveland a contender again. The fans are in dire need for a winner inCleveland. Avid baseball fan Danny Komertz believes the Indians are on the rise. “This is very young team but it has talent, I cant wait to see how this team produces with the new manager in Terry Francona,” he said. Only time will tell with this Indians team, lets hope they become a winner.
