The Purge

The Purge

The Purge is one of the best action movies of the decade, starring Ethan Hawke, Lena Headey, Max Burkholder, and Adelaide Kane. The Purge is about a wealthy family who is held hostage for holding the target of a murderous psychopath during the Purge, a 12-hour period in which any and all crime is legalized. This movie came out on May 2, 2013, and was sold out in a matter of hours. What made this movie so entertaining was that it kept you on the edge of your seat the whole time because you knew something was about to happen. Although at certain points in the movie you were able to predict what was about to happen, it was still a very well thought out plot.

The movie the Purge had many positive elements but also some negative. It was only an hour and a half long, and most people enjoy movies more if they are at least above two hours long. What really interests people who watch this movie is they are hooked by the idea of crime being legal for a 12 hour period. Of course, there has never been such an atrocity as the “Purge” in this world, people want to see what it would cause, so that is why this is a attractive factor for people to watch this movie. The Purge made over 3 million dollars since its came out. I would definitely recommend this movie to someone because in my opinion, I thought it was a great movie. “The Purge was a very good movie except the ending was not that good. It was all action and then just ended,” said Jill Whetsel.
