Tyler Charles Polk was born on February 12, 1994, to parents Dave and Stephanie Polk. Tyler has grown up in the Chardon area most of his life. He went to Munson Elementary, where he had some fun times with friends. He also got involved in sports, playing baseball and basketball. In middle school, he made some good friends that remain with him today. In high school, Ty became the honest, easy going, happy kid everyone sees today.
During middle school, he continued to gain a lot of friends while playing basketball in seventh grade as well as playing baseball on a travel team. Ty spent a lot of time with his two good friends Drew Pokorny and Joe Linsky. The three of them became good friends because they lived so close to each other and had a lot of good times in and out of school. In eighth grade, Ty started playing tennis with his dad. When he finally understood everything about the game, Ty fell in love with tennis and has played ever since.
Ty entered high school and continued to play tennis with the school team where he became one of the top players on the team. The tennis coach, Coleen Whitten, says, “Ty was a great leader and player to have on the team. He was never late to practice and made every match; he was a very dedicated player and showed great sportsmanship.” When asked how he would describe Ty, senior Joe Linsky simply replied by saying, “the way.” Joe then went more in depth adding, “Ty is a great guy, he’s a really nice and funny kid that gets along with most people.” Ty has also become good friends with Sean Casamento in high school. Casamento also described Ty as “the way,” but added, “Ty is really easy going and is a good kid.” The three of them are always together and hanging out and having a great time. Ty also became good friends with senior Katie Borawski, who said, “Ty is one of my best friends and I love him. He has been there for me this year and I really appreciate it a lot.” Ty described his senior year by, “It has been one of the best years of my life, and I’ve made so many new friends and had some really fun times that I will never forget.”
With senior year winding down, Ty is going to be graduating soon and will attend Bowling GreenState Universityin the fall. He will be rooming with his friend Greg Robison. Robison said, “I’m excited to be rooming with Ty next year. He’s a good guy and we will have a lot of good times. I’m really looking forward to it.” Ty will be going to Bowling Green undecided on a major, but whatever he chooses, everyone feels as though he will have great success with it. Everyone knows the kind of guy Ty is, and whatever path he chooses in life, he will have great success with it.
